We recently received an e-mail from Nigel Bennet which we are happy to pass on:-

"I have organised a Charity concert at Reading Blue Coat School Sonning RG5 4LR on Friday 16th May at 7.30pm in the Sports Hall.

It is rare to get the Royal Band and the corps of Drums, in this part of the world I and thought your members may be interested in the concert. The band is arguably the best of its type, then I am slightly biased as my daughter is in the band!

 I hope to attach details for your interest and hope that you will feel able to publicise the event for a worthy cause.

Band Member News


The band are playing on the 19th July 2008 at the bandstand at Eastbourne. We will be running a coach down on the Saturday morning and back again on the Sunday afternoon, giving us an evening in Eastbourne and possibly a stop on the way back at something interesting en route.

The concert, "An Afternoon on Broadway" starts at 3.00pm in the bandstand at Eastbourne. There is a small admission charge to the bandstand, but details of this are not yet available. More information about the concert, and the 2008 Bandstand season can be found at the Eastbourne Bandstand website.

TV Stars (again!)
The Woodley Concert Band appeared on the national BBC 10 O'clock News on 7 November 2007, following the concert for the Royal British Legion at Bearwood College Theatre on 3 November 2007.
