Woodley Concert Band chosen to help mark 60th Anniversary of VJ Day in Reading

WOODLEY CONCERT BAND ARE PLAYING AT WOODLEY CARNIVAL, WOODFORD PARK, WOODLEY ON SATURDAY 14 JUNE at 5.30pm 5 weeks, 21 hours, 14 minutes, 18 seconds until your next chance to hear the band

Sunday 14th August marks the 60th anniversary of VJ Day and the end of WW2.

In Reading, members of local forces associations will join together at 12.30 pm for an Open Air Service of Remembrance in Forbury Gardens, Reading. The Mayor and  Mayoress will be in attendance.

Woodley Concert Band have been asked to provide musical entertainment before the service, accompany the hymns during the outdoor service, and then complete a concert programme during the afternoon.

All are welcome to join both the service and the entertainment in the gardens that will follow.
