In a shocking and entirely unforeseen scene in Wokingham last Friday, havoc was wreaked as The New Rose pub was engulfed by an unprecedented tide of water erupting violently from a local water main. Whilst literally no-one ran screaming from the venue, the manager was aghast at the concept of having to cancel the great Woodley Concert Band Quiz Night and so vowed to strive day and night to dry out the pub sufficiently to get the electricity turned back on in time for the eagerly-anticipated Big Night.
Sadly, at 19:00 this evening, the manager called the Quiz Night offices to break the news that The New Rose pub would not be reopening until Saturday night at the earliest, and sorry if that's a bit inconvenient. The response of the Woodley Quiz Night committee is, mercifully, unrecorded.
However, never ones to be defeated by trifling inconveniences like this, the entire staff of the Quiz Night HQ set out in a determined bid to rehouse the Quiz Night and are thrilled to be able to now reveal the exciting (and very accommodating) new venue for this Thursday!
The Woodley Concert Band Quiz Night will now take place at the Hope and Anchor pub, still in Wokingham, still on this Thursday, 3rd July, and still starting at 7:30. Unfortunately, the Hope and Anchor is NOT able to offer food - sorry!!!
A link to a map is pasted below, and free car parking (after 6pm) is available in the marked car park - walk through the council offices car park to get to the pub, opposite the offices. If you get stuck or lost, ring me on 07851 758 684!

The Quiz Night's still coming......see you there!
[Ends]
PS...Sorry about the lack of food but it was kind of no food or no quiz!
