WCB Plays the Woodley Carnival

Saturday 9 June 2007 saw the Woodley Concert Band in action on stage at the Woodley Carnival. The weather cooperated and it stayed dry throughout the performance. The band entertained a huge crowd who were getting ready for the evening entertainment from a big band. The atmosphere was exciting, aided by the scents of barbeque smoke which drifted across the field and occasionally the band!

Playing a selection of music from marches to musicals, the Woodley Concert Band entertainment was certainly quite a contrast to the preceding music, played by two excellent young bands. From "The Boys are Back in Town" to the march "On the Quarterdeck" is quite a leap in anybody's book! However the audience seemed to appreciate the whole afternoon and had just started dancing to the big band as the Woodley Concert Band stage crew (aka Phil, Claire, Pete and Paul) finally headed out of the car park with assorted band equipment.

Another job well done!
