Detailed Information on Joining the Band

All players are welcome provided there is a suitable vacancy
Players need to be a reasonable standard as the Band does not offer individual training
Reasonable standard defined as minimum Grade 5 (or equivalent), reasonable sight reader and with some ensemble playing experience
Players will be given a trial period of up to 2 months.
There will be no a formal audition – the trial period provides an opportunity for both parties to check suitability
Standard/suitability will be reviewed by the Musical Director and relevant section leader
At the new player’s first rehearsal, they will be made aware of the format of the guideline for joining, i.e. standard, review, trial period and subscriptions.

If the player is accepted, after the 2-month trial period, the new member should be asked to pay relevant subscriptions (proportionate to the yearly fee based on the month of joining) and provided with a suitable uniform & instrument if required.
