It's going to be a busy Saturday for members of the Woodley Concert Band. From early Saturday morning, the stage management and front of house teams will be hard at work preparing the Bearwood Theatre ready for the band's concert which starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 22 October.
There's staging to be collected and built, percussion instruments to be transported and set up, chairs, music stands, the music itself, and all of it has to be ready for 4.00pm, when the band carries out the last run through before the concert itself.
As you wander through the theatre doors at 7.00pm this evening, spare a thought for the team who have put everything together over the previous 8 hours. And of course, as you are heading home, the team will be back at work, breaking everything down and transporting it all back into storage. If you see any of the team in the interval, why not buy them a drink - they'll need it!!
