Woodley Concert Band Players Workshop

WOODLEY CONCERT BAND ARE PLAYING AT WOODLEY CARNIVAL, WOODFORD PARK, WOODLEY ON SATURDAY 14 JUNE at 5.30pm 5 weeks, 23 hours, 22 minutes, 14 seconds until your next chance to hear the band

We have arranged for a workshop on Sunday 11th September from 10.0am til around 6.0pm.

The workshop will be free to members and guests, as well as a finger buffet type lunch.

Venue will be our normal rehearsal room plus the main hall at St Dominic's school in Woodley.

The day will be as follows:

10.0am til 12.0am          Brass, Reed & percussion sectional rehearsals

12.0 til 2.0pm                Lunch etc

2.0pm til 4.0pm              Full band rehearsal

4.0pm to 5.0pm             Tea

5.0pm til 6.0pm              Short concert

 

Martin Proctor will be running the percussion workshop, and I am arranging for 2 conductors/tutors to take the rest of the sectionals and split the full rehearsal and concert between them. I may also ask Andy Milburn, who we commissioned to write 2 pieces, to attend and run his new pieces.

 

If you would like to bring guests to join in they would need to be of a reasonable standard as we will probably have at least a couple of pieces that will be challenging. Guests for the percussion workshop can be of mixed ability and Martin is quite happy to take children who have an interest but maybe never played with a group.

 

So please let me know if you will be attending and if you wish to bring any guests.
